何か悪いことして立たされているわけじゃありません。いきなりですが卒業式。ワーホリの決まりで一つの語学学校に最大で3ヶ月しか通うことができない。毎週のように通学期間が終わる生徒のために卒業式が行われ、一人ずつ勉強の成果発表ということで英語のスピーチがあります。

学校敷地内にあるくつろぎスペース、愛煙家達の国際交流の場。授業の合間の休憩や昼食はここで過ごします。学校から無料で振舞われるビスケットと薄いコーヒーを奪い合い、金欠生活による空腹を埋める。奥は3 X 10Mくらいのスペースがあり、しっぺリフティングという一歩間違えれば国際問題に発展しかねない危険な遊びが大流行。ルールは単純、バレーボールでサッカーシリトリフティング、失敗したらみんなから本気シッペ。熱中しすぎて授業に遅刻は当たり前、授業に戻っても指二本が真っ赤っか、腕にミミズ腫れでペンもてまへん

突然ですがホームステイ中の思い出話に戻ります。
NZではホームステイしながら3ヶ月間語学学校へ通った。生徒の国籍は日本人、韓国人が大半を占め、ロシア、チェコ、タイ、台湾からも数名ずつ。この学校を選んでよかったなと思うことは、校内母国語禁止という決まりがあり、ほとんどの生徒が忠実にその決まりを守っていたということ。学校全体にせっかく貴重な時間とお金を費やしているのだから、絶対英語をしゃべれるようになりたい！という雰囲気があった。学校にいた3ヶ月間、プライベートでしかも日本人だけで過ごす時間でさえほとんど日本語使わない環境のおかげで、英語で生活する必要最低限の会話力が身についた。はず。

She was my host mother. In this photo, she wears a red "Fundoshi" which is Japanese traditional under wear for men. I gave the younger boy it for his birthday present but she loved it more. When She was making a phone call to someone as wearing the "Fundoshi", she looked so happy. She works at airport, and also she is a soccer player in a local league. She has experienced a lot of trips to overseas therefore she has many friends from different coutries. She often cooked Oriental food for me learnt from them and I loved it very much.

彼女はホストマザー。で、彼女がしてるのが赤いフンドシ。下の子の誕生日パーティーのとき僕が次男坊にプレゼントしたんだけどお母さんのほうが気に入ったみたい。フンドシしたままうれしそうに誰かに電話をしています。そんな陽気なホスト母は空港で働く傍らアマのサッカー選手でもあるスポーツウーマン。海外旅行の経験が豊富な人で、外国人の友達がたくさんいるらしくアジア人好みの料理をよく作ってくれた。朝はコーンフレイクとコーヒー、昼はトーストかインスタントラーメン、夜はフィッシュ＆チップス（揚げた白身魚とフライドポテトのNZ国民的ファーストフード）といった日本人と全く異なる食文化の中、彼女が作るオリエンタル料理はほんとにありがたかった。

A birthday party for Yonger boy who are behind the table. He became 3 yeas old. Neighber kids came and cerebrated his birthday. The hand made cake was the vividest blue I had ever seen. He was too young to puff out the flame by himself, friends blew the candle out.

次男坊の誕生日パーティー。一番奥に座ってる子が今日の主役。近所の子ども達を集めて一緒にお祝いしました。手作りのケーキは僕が今まで見た中で一番強烈なブルーでした。チビちゃんはまだ吹き消すことができないので、友達が代わりに吹き消します。

They are the cutiest kids I have met in NZ. They were not only like angels but also like aliens. At that time, it was still difficult to catch native English but theirs were more and more... They called me "Ga-ttu" (Gaku). They were so lively and powerful, never let me alone. Older bro. (5 years old) was little uthority-resisting age and younger boy (2 years old) did not know anything scared. I (had to?) enjoyed professional wrestling a lot with them.
But sometime, when I read them picture books on my knees, they became quiet and listened to me. Yonger boy gave me a kiss with full of slaver everynihgt. I loved them very much. If they were not with me at that time, I could feel more lonly cos I did not have so many friends who gave me sincere kindness with pure and warm heart like them. They have become 8 years and 5 years now and I am looking forward to seeing how they have grown up. If they wanna come and study Japan in the future, please please stay with me in my home!

ステイ先の兄弟。かわいいでしょ。見た目はかわいいが、宇宙人でした。当時ただでさえ聞き取りづらかった英語、彼らの英語はさらに難解なものだった。僕のことは「ガットゥー（GAKUをうまく発音できません。）」と呼んでくれます。悪戯盛りのお二人は、まー元気のいいこと。兄ちゃんはは後期の5歳、弟さんは怖いもの知らずの2歳、気がついたら常にプロレスごっこが始まってた。
でも、僕が絵本を読んでやるとひざの上で大人しく聞いてくれたね。上の子は照れてあんまりなかったけど、下の子は毎晩寝る前にキスをしてくれる。よだれでべとべとのかわいいお口で。今では8歳と５歳になってるんでしょうけど、下の子は反抗期を迎えさらに元気いっぱいだろうし、お兄ちゃんはどんな少年になっているのか。。。いつかこの子達が大きくなって日本でホームステイしたい！と言い出したら、絶対家においで。

This is a home that I stayed for the first three months with the host family. It is normal for them to have a single family house (one storied) with a large garden that is different from that of Japanese. NZ has 2/3 area compared the same of Japan but popuration is 1/30 (4 million/12 billion) in comparing with Japanese therefore their area per person is much larger than ours even though they have the same nubmer of sheep as the population. In addition, they do not have any own pollutionable industory in thier land, it was very conformatable to live with fresh air and lots of green even in the quite big city. I enjoyed playing soccer on the garden with kids.

ホームステイ先。僕が3ヶ月間お世話になった家。日本の住宅事情とは違い、こちらは庭付き一軒家、平屋というのが一般的。NZの国土は日本の約3分の２なのに対し、人口は400万人（当時）で日本の約30分の１。羊が人間と同じくらい飼われているそうですが、土地が余っているのでしょう。しかも国の政策で工業をしないせいか空気はうまく街中は美しい緑に覆われ、自然を愛する僕には非常に住みよい環境でした。お庭の芝生でサッカーの練習ができます。

I started living Christcharch as my base town, where is the second biggest city in NZ.　Christchurch is beautiful city cos it is called "Garden city", so much green everywhere in the city. It made me easy to get used living in a different country.

It was autmun in May. Seasons are competely opposite from Japan. Dry and comfortable and dry leaves were beautiful. I was so excited what I was starting someting new.

僕のNZ生活はクライストチャーチという町から始まった。ここは「ガーデンシティ”と呼ばれるだけあって、町中いたるところが緑に覆われ、美しい景観を持つ町だ。ＮＺでは2番目に大きな町でもあり（南半球最大）、僕が異国での生活になじむにはうってつけの町だった。

入国したのは5月でも、ここでは秋である。日本とNZは赤道を挟んでで真反対に位置するため、四季は真逆。これから始まるであろう新生活にウキウキシしながら、町を散歩してました。

HOME STAY

At first, I am writing about home stay.

As soon as I arrived in NZ, I started Home Stay arranged by a language school.
They were my host family. I stayed with them for three months. I was really lucky because they were very good guys. This is a photo I took on the top of a hill near city center on the date when I started working holiday life.

At my arrival in NZ, I expected that host family was waiting for me at arrival gate in Christcharch airpot since I appointed that through the school. However unfortunatelly when I went out the arrival gate, nobody was waiting for me.
One hour later, Host Dad came to me and said "Sorry, we had been having breakfast!"
Such little accident started my NZ life and I got anxious for the future speding with them.

このブログを書き始めるにあたって、まずは僕がNZに入国して3ヶ月間経験したホームステイのことを書きたいと思う。
入国してすぐのエピソード。飛行機が到着したらホストファミリーが迎えに来てくれことになっていた。出国前に語学学校を決め、そこを通じてホストファミリーのピックアップを予約していた。ちゃんと顔が分かるか不安だったので写真まで送ってもらった。でも、やはりというか、スムーズに合流することはできなかった。空港について到着ロビーに出ても誰も話しかけてこない。電話しようにも現地通貨はないし、おまけにかけ方がわからない。途方に暮れ一人ぽつんと待つこと一時間。ある男性が声をかけてきた。ホストファーザーだった。彼が発した最初の言葉は・・・「すまない。朝ごはん食べてたんだ」。僕のワーホリはそんな幕開けでした。ほんとに大丈夫なんだろうか・・・。

Purpose

One of my best experience, working holiday life in NZ.
I met a lot of new friends and saw awesome veiws, challenged sky diving, bungy jumping, trecking...ect lots of fun!

僕が一年間経験したニュージーランドでのワーホリ生活。たくさんの出会い、息を呑むような絶景、それまでやったことのなかったたくさんのことへの挑戦。このblogで皆さんに少しでもお伝えできればなーという思いで更新していきます。

I wanna blog here one of my best memory.

I stayed in New Zealand for a year to study English and had a lot of pleasant experiences.
I am going to introduce some of wonderful days I had from today.
